Welcome to SMCNHA
The San Mateo Coast Natural History Association (SMCNHA) was created over 15 years ago to further the education and interpretation initiatives of the California State Parks along the San Mateo Coast. SMCNHA (smack-N-haw) was founded by volunteers in San Mateo County as a non-profit Cooperative Association to provide support directly to these specific coastal State Parks. We work closely with the local State Park staff to align our activities with their local needs.

How You Can Help
SMCNHA raises funds to support our State Park programs through the operation of three educational bookstores located at the Año Nuevo State Reserve Visitor Center, the Pigeon Point Light Station Keeper's Store, and at Half Moon Bay State Beach Visitor Center.
You can help by giving your tax deductible donations to further augment the programs that are so vital to enhancing the experience of the hundreds of thousands of visitors who annually come to the San Mateo Coast State Parks.
