SMCNHA, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit Cooperating Association, raises funds to support our State Park programs through donations and the operation of three educational bookstores located at the Año Nuevo State Reserve Visitor Center, the Half Moon Bay State Beach Visitor Center, and at the Pigeon Point Light Station Keeper's Store. We also raise money through the sale of firewood at Butano and Half Moon Bay State Parks.
As state budgets continue to be cut and with more people staying close to home to enjoy the parks, SMCNHA's work becomes increasingly urgent, as we are relied on to fund the essential educational and interpretive initiatives in our coastal parks.
Save San Mateo Coast State Parks Fund
SMCNHA has established a special Save San Mateo Coast State Parks Fund earmarked to help State Parks keep educational staff and volunteers working at parks like Año Nuevo, Pescadero Marsh, Pigeon Point Lighthouse, and Half Moon Bay State Beach. Working to keep these parks open, with their educational programs and guided walks, is our current top priority.
